About Aluna

What is Aluna?

Aluna is a telehealth platform partnering with a physician-led medical practice focused on health optimization and wellness. You complete an online intake, a licensed clinician reviews it and, if clinically appropriate, may prescribe medications including peptides. Aluna works with licensed compounding pharmacies to fill your prescriptions and ship the medications to your door.

Does Aluna work with licensed medical providers?

Yes, Aluna works with U.S.-licensed physicians (MD/DO), nurse practitioners, and physician assistants who undergo training, background checks, and credentialing. Background, education, training, and licensing information is available to patients upon request.

Services & Medications

What kind of prescriptions does Aluna offer?

Clinicians may prescribe treatments based on your medical history, health goals, and clinical assessment. Treatments may include FDA-approved medications and compounded medications, including certain peptide-based therapies, if clinically appropriate.

Not all patients qualify for treatment. All prescribing decisions are made by a licensed clinician based on an individual's medical history, health status, and wellness goals and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Where are prescriptions filled?

Aluna partners with licensed U.S. pharmacies that compound and dispense medications in accordance with applicable federal and state requirements.

How does the process work? Is there a video visit?

After you submit your intake, a clinician licensed in your state reviews your information and determines whether treatment is clinically appropriate. For many patients, a video visit is not required when permitted by applicable law. Additional information, laboratory testing, or a live visit may be required in some cases.

How long until I hear back or get my order?

Most intakes are reviewed within 1-2 business days, although review times may vary. If treatment is approved, orders are typically processed and shipped within 1-3 business days. Delays may occur if additional clinical information is needed or if a clinician reaches out with questions.

Are refills automatic?

Eligible treatments may be enrolled in automatic refill programs where clinically appropriate if you choose that option. Before each refill, you may be asked to provide updated health information and, when required, complete laboratory testing.

Automatic refill enrollment does not guarantee future refills. All refill requests remain subject to clinical review and approval.

How is my medication shipped and stored?

Orders ship discreetly with tracking. The temperature-sensitive treatments ship cold in insulated packaging; refrigerate them on arrival and follow the storage instructions included with your order. The temperature-stable medications do not need to be refrigerated.

How do I take an injectable medication?

If you're prescribed an injectable medication, your order includes the medication plus syringes, needles, and alcohol swabs, along with step-by-step administration instructions. Your intake asks about injection comfort and needle concerns so a clinician can assist with anyone who may need extra guidance.

Safety

How does Aluna help ensure patient safety?

Every patient's intake, history, and labs (when applicable) are reviewed by a licensed clinician before any prescription is issued. Follow-up and monitoring are built into treatment as appropriate, and clinicians refer patients to in-person care when needed. Aluna is not for emergencies. If you are experiencing a life-threatening situation, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

How does Aluna ensure the quality and safety of its medications?

All prescription medications are dispensed by licensed U.S. pharmacies. Medications are sourced and prepared according to applicable federal and state regulations and pharmacy quality standards. Patients should use medications only as prescribed and follow all storage, handling, and administration instructions provided with their treatment.

Can I share my medication with someone else?

No. Prescription medications are prescribed specifically for an individual patient based on their medical history, health status, and treatment needs. Sharing prescription medications can be unsafe and may lead to serious health risks. Always keep medications out of reach of children and use them only as directed by your prescribing clinician.

What should I do if I have side effects or a reaction?

Many treatments can cause mild side effects, especially when starting therapy. If you experience side effects that are bothersome, unexpected, or persistent, contact our support team so a clinician can review your symptoms and advise you on next steps.

Do not wait to hear back from us if you are experiencing symptoms that could indicate a serious medical problem. Seek immediate medical attention or call 911 if you experience symptoms such as difficulty breathing, chest pain, severe swelling, fainting, severe dizziness, sudden weakness, confusion, or signs of a serious allergic reaction, including swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.

If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.

Can I message a provider with questions?

Aluna does not currently offer scheduled video visits or direct provider messaging. If you have a non-urgent question about your treatment, order, or care plan, please contact our support team at support@alunascience.com. Questions will be reviewed and routed to a clinician when appropriate.

Support communications are not monitored in real time and should not be used for urgent medical concerns.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency or symptoms that require immediate attention, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department right away.

Access & Eligibility

Which states does Aluna operate in?

Currently: Arizona (AZ), Colorado (CO), Idaho (ID), Montana (MT), New Mexico (NM), Utah (UT), Wisconsin (WI), and Wyoming (WY).

Availability is subject to licensure and applicable state laws.

How do I get started with Aluna?

Complete an intake online. A clinician licensed in your state reviews your submission and, if treatment is clinically appropriate, issues a prescription that ships to you. If you are not a candidate for a prescription, you will be notified.

Do I need labs before starting?

Labs are recommended before beginning treatment. Some therapies require recent lab results or an agreement to complete lab testing before treatment can begin. If lab work is required, this will be clearly indicated during checkout.

Your clinician may also recommend or request labs based on your health history and intake information. You may use any local laboratory that is convenient for you.

Pricing & Payment

Is Aluna covered by insurance?

No. Aluna is a cash-pay service and does not accept insurance. You pay directly for your treatment, which keeps pricing transparent and provides access to therapies that are often not covered by insurance plans.

There are no membership fees. You only pay for the treatments you choose and are approved to receive.

What happens if I'm not approved for treatment?

Not every intake results in a prescription. If a clinician determines that a treatment is not appropriate or safe for you, you will be notified. In some cases, a clinician may reach out to discuss the decision or recommend next steps.

You are only charged after a clinician approves your treatment and processes your order for pharmacy fulfillment. If you are not approved, you will not be charged.

What is the Aluna refund policy?

Because prescription treatments are dispensed by a pharmacy, products that have already been filled, shipped, or delivered cannot be returned or refunded.

If you have paid for an order that has not yet been dispensed, please contact our support team to request a review. Refund requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

If your order arrives damaged, tampered with, broken, or you receive the wrong product, do not use it. Contact our support team immediately, and we will work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

How do I cancel my Aluna refills?

If you have enrolled in automatic refills, you can pause or cancel future shipments at any time by contacting our support team. A self-service billing and subscription portal will be available soon.

There is no membership to cancel. You are only charged for treatments you order or authorize for refill.

Please note that if a refill order has already been processed, dispensed, or shipped before your cancellation request is received, that order cannot be canceled or refunded.

Do you accept HSA or FSA?

Some patients may be able to use HSA or FSA funds for eligible expenses. Eligibility is determined by your HSA or FSA plan administrator and may vary by treatment and individual plan. If you have questions about coverage, we recommend checking with your plan provider before purchasing.

What is required for refills?

Before receiving a refill, you'll complete a brief health update so your clinician can assess how you're responding to treatment and whether it remains appropriate for you.

Some treatments also require periodic lab monitoring before refills can be approved. Any required lab work will be communicated to you in advance.

All refill requests are reviewed by a clinician, just like your initial treatment request. Approval of a previous order does not guarantee future refills. If your health status, medications, lab results, or other relevant factors have changed, your treatment may be modified, paused, or discontinued for your safety.

Can I change or cancel an order?

If your order has not yet been dispensed by the pharmacy, please contact our support team as soon as possible to request a change or cancellation. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request, but changes cannot be guaranteed once order processing has begun.

Once a prescription has been filled, dispensed, or shipped by the pharmacy, it cannot be canceled, returned, or refunded.
